Coronavirus Update – Lymington Community Centre

As of Thursday 19th March the Lymington Community Centre will be temporarily postponing all films in the Malt Cinema and events until further notice. We are taking this action in response to the announcement that members of the public should avoid theatres, clubs, pubs and restaurants and in consideration for the health and wellbeing of the Community, our staff, volunteers.   This is a very difficult decision to make, but it is a necessary one.

The Café, meeting rooms and the wider Centre will close on Friday 27th March 2020.

At this time the Pre-school will remain open until the 3rd April, Easter holidays or until we receive notification from the Education Authorities.

The Centre will remain closed until Monday 20th April 2020 or later than this, subject to Government Guidelines.  We will keep you updated with any new information.

It is impossible to realise the full impact the coronavirus will have on the Lymington Community Centre as a whole.  If you are a cinema ticket holder, we will be contacting you in the coming weeks regarding the status of your transaction. You do not need to contact us. If your event remains postponed or cancelled, we’ll discuss whether you’d like to support us by donating your tickets to our Celebrating 70 Development Fund. Alternatively, we may ask if you’d like to convert your tickets into a gift voucher to use at another time. With a reduced number of staffing, it may take us some time to contact you so please do bear with us.

As a very busy Community Centre, it is difficult to make this announcement, but right now, under these extraordinary circumstances, we feel it is the right action to take.

We look forward to when the risk of the virus has abated and when we can open the doors of the Community Centre again and we will let you know when we have any more news.   Until then, we remain grateful for everyone’s support, patience and understanding. For updates and news, please visit our web site, or connect with us on Facebook and Twitter.
