The Malt Cinema Closure until further notice – Update Tuesday 2nd June 2020
The Malt Cinema at the Lymington Community Centre Closed its doors on Friday 20th March until further notice. The difficult but necessary decision was taken to close due to the current coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19) and the UK Government advice. The Lymington Community Association are carefully monitoring and following the advice and guidance on the coronavirus on a daily basis.
The Community Centre is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for all of our staff, volunteers and users of the Centre. We value all of you and it is important that our number one priority is to ensure that everyone remains safe and well during this difficult time and in the future. We look forward to opening the doors to the Community Centre in the future and welcoming you back as soon as possible to enjoy a movie – or two!
We would like to thank you all for your support and patience at this difficult time. We understand the frustration in performances being cancelled over the past few months, however your safety is paramount to us. We are working hard to plan ahead for when we are allowed to open again. Thank you to everyone who has kindly accepted vouchers for future showings or kindly donated the value of their ticket to our re development fund.

When will the Malt Cinema reopen?
We are constantly monitoring UK Government guidance and also Health Authority guidelines. We are ensuring that we keep up to date on any developments as and when they are issued. Our priority is to ensure that the health and well being of our volunteers, users and staff is number one. As and when we are given the guidance that it is safe to do so we will open with safety measures in place. We are very grateful for your support of the Community centre and we look forward to welcoming you back.
Do I need to contact you regarding my tickets I had booked?
Firstly thank you for booking tickets at the Malt Cinema. Our staff are busy working on a week by week process to contact everyone that has booked tickets at the Cinema. All bookings made online directly through Ticketsource will have been refunded by now and you will have received an email directly from Ticketsource. Any tickets booked in house directly with us at reception or over the phone will be contacted directly by us. We will be emailing you directly where possible or phoning. Please be patient with us as we are working with reduced staffing levels. We are working hard to ensure we contact you all as soon as possible.
Is the Centre closed because there has been an incident of coronavirus?
The Centre is currently closed to the general public. We do not know of any confirmed incidents of the coronavirus at the Centre and we are closed as a precautionary measure to protect out volunteers, staff and users in line with the Government guidance and we will not open until it is safe to do so.
How will you let customers know when the Centre and Cinema are open again?
We post all updates on our website under the news section and also our social media channels. We regularly send out emails to our members who have signed up for our newsletter with updates. If you are not currently on our mailing list but you would like to receive updates please email firstname.lastname@example.org and ask to be added to the mailing list.
How are the staff and volunteers of Lymington Community Association?
We are in regular contact with all staff and volunteers of the Centre. Members of staff are regularly contacting volunteers to ensure that they are keeping well and also to offer support or just a chat to catch up! Our volunteers are the life of our Centre and they are certainly looking forward to coming back! Many of the staff are on furlough and therefore are able to still be paid during the closure of the Centre. The wellbeing of our volunteers and staff is our top priority and we are continuing to support them as much as possible during this time.
I really miss the Live Screenings, where else can I watch live performances?
We miss films and Live screenings too!!!! Please keep an eye on our social media channels as we regularly update places with different shows that may be of interest to you.

The Centre may be closed but we are still picking up voicemails and emails. Please note that we may take a while longer to respond to your requests due to limited staff working. My Cinema voucher has expired, or will expire soon. What do I need to do?
You don’t need to do anything right now. Once we re-open, please visit Reception or give us a call and we will replace your voucher for you with an extended date.
