Civil Ceremonies & Celebrations

A Civil Ceremony or Wedding is one of the most important days of a couple’s life – let us help you to make it extra special at The Lymington Community Centre. Several of our rooms are now licensed for the conducting of weddings & civil partnerships and our planners can spend as much time as necessary with you to make sure everything is perfect.

The Gates Hall

Our largest Hall is fully equipped with up to date audio and visual projection. You can plug in your laptop with your favourite music to be played as you walk up the aisle and then when you sign the register. If you prefer live music is a great alternative – an orchestral quartet, a harpist, a singer, all makes your day special. You can decorate the room as you choose. Chair covers, flowers, balloons – whatever you would like. After the ceremony take advantage of the garden setting for a glass of wine for your guests whilst you have some photographs taken.

Wellington Room

This room is situated upstairs, served by a lift and 2 sets of stairs. It seats 120 people and is light and airy. It is equipped with a grand piano so a sole pianist or small ensemble would feel at home here. With it’s own kitchenette it means you can serve drinks after the ceremony. You are very welcome to decorate the room to suit your theme.

Malt Hall Theatre

If you’re looking for something different then give some consideration to our Theatre/Cinema. If you want a themed wedding this could be just the venue for you. With a stage and tiered seating for 91 people it provides the perfect backdrop for a unique wedding. James Bond, 1950’s, Fairytale wedding are just a few of the themes that would work so well here. With doors leading out to the Common Room Garden you are welcome to serve your guests with a glass of champagne whilst your photographer takes some amazing pictures.

Beagley Room

If you are looking for a smaller intimate ceremony then this is the room for you. Seating up to 14 people this will accomodate your close family or friends. Leading out on to the New Street Courtyard Garden you can celebrate with a glass of bubbly. The nearby Common Room seats 40 guests would be ideal for your reception here. Patio doors lead out to the enclosed Garden. There are kitchen facilities so drinks service is a simple matter. Decorate the room with flowers and balloons as you wish.

On booking we will ask you to complete a booking form and pay a non-refundable deposit. When you have done this it is time to contact the Registrar. You will need to book them to come to the venue to perform the legal formalities.
